Posted by Rachel on 9th October 2010 in Classic, Musical, Soundtracks

Alfred Schnittke (1934 – 1998) is one of the greatest Russian composers.
Many of his music creations were forbidden by Soviet regime.
In spite of it he was known in all the music world.
He is author of 9 Symphonies, 18 concerts for Violin, Piano, Cello and other instruments.
He wrote Choral and Chamber music and soundtracks to 9 movies.
This movie Skazka Stranstviy (The Story of the Voyages), directed by Alexander Mitta in 1982 is my favorite movie with music of Alfred Schnittke.

La Scala Chamber Orchestra – Vivaldi

Posted by Rachel on 4th May 2010 in Classic

La Scala Chamber Orchestra plays Vivaldi with Francesco Manara as a soloist on violin.
Even Vivaldi sounds too much classic for somebody this performance of La Scala Chamber Orchestra was great and unimpeachable.
They are really virtuosos.

Verdi Requiem – La Scala with Daniel Barenboim

Posted by Rachel on 17th July 2009 in Classic, Opera

Yesterday we were on grandiose musical performance. We listened to Requiem Verdi performed by chorus La Scala under management conductor Daniel Barenboim.

Tremendous music sounded under sky at warm southern night. The huge field has been filled by thousand people sitting on a grass. On either side of a scene the silvery arrows of skyscrapers personifying progress and the present, left in the sky. Tremendous music sounded over a huge modern city filling hearts with delight and reminding that beauty is eternal and is not under the power of time.
